The information at tabs, in menus and in pages in Portalen is also available in English.
In order to get Portalen in English, you need to have English set as the first language in your web browser.
Here´s a description on how to change web browser language from Swedish into English (first in Mozilla Firefox, and further down in Internet Explorer).
Please note that you may need to shut down and restart your web browser after changing language, in order for the changes to work.
In Mozilla Firefox:
1. From the top menu in the web browser, choose Verktyg and then Inställningar.
2. Click the symbol Innehåll at the top of the window that appears. Click the button Välj... under Språk in the window.
3. In the new window appearing, you may already have "Engelska" (English) in the top list;
if "Engelska" isn´t in the list, you need to scroll down the list under Välj ett språk att lägga till..., and add it.
Once you have "Engelska" in the top list, mark it by clicking and then press the button Flytta upp until it is the top (first) language in the list.
4. Click "OK". Refresh the page. Note that you may need to shut down and restart the browser for the changes to work.
When the web browser language is correct, go to www.student.umu.se/english
and sign in to Portalen via the link to the right at the page.
In Internet Explorer:
1. From the top menu in the web browser, choose Verktyg and then Internetalternativ.
2. Choose the tab Allmänt and click the button Språk in the lower part of the window.
In the new window appearing ("Språkinställningar"), you may already have "Engelska" (English) in the list under "Språk";
if "Engelska" isn´t in the list, you need to add it by clicking the button Lägg till..., scroll down the list and choose "Engelska".
Once you have "Engelska" in the list, mark it and then click the button Flytta upp until "Engelska" is the top language in the list.
3. Click "OK". Note that you may need to shut down and restart the browser for the changes to work.
When the web browser language is correct, go to www.student.umu.se/english
and sign in to Portalen via the link to the right at the page.
